Terms of Service

You must meet the following age requirements to use SprigLoom:

• Standard accounts: 18 years or older.
• Teen accounts:13–17 years old, with restricted capabilities (no purchases, no direct messaging with unconnected adults, general-rated content only).
• Child accounts: Under 13, COPPA-supervised. Requires a parent or teacher account. Access limited to educational content only.

Certain plant species may be restricted or require permits in your jurisdiction. You are responsible for complying with all applicable local, state, and federal laws regarding seed sales, exchanges, and possession.

SprigLoom supports the following account types:

• Standard: Full platform access for users 18+.
• Teen:Restricted access for users 13–17.
• Child: COPPA-supervised accounts for users under 13, managed by a parent or educator.
• Educator: Verified 18+ accounts that can create classrooms and assign activities.
• Parent: Verified 18+ accounts that manage child accounts and approve connections.

As a marketplace participant, you agree to:

• Provide accurate descriptions of all listed items.
• Comply with all applicable laws regarding seed sales, including phytosanitary regulations and USDA/FSA labeling requirements.
• Not list prohibited items (illegal substances, invasive species where restricted, counterfeit goods).
• Ship orders within the timeframe stated in your listing.
• Respond to buyer inquiries within 24 hours.

You retain ownership of all content you upload to SprigLoom, including photos, short videos, text, reviews, and journal entries.

By uploading content, you grant SprigLoom a perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, non-exclusive license to use, display, reproduce, and modify your content for operating and promoting the Platform. This is not an ownership transfer.

You may request removal of your content at any time. Upon account deletion, your personally identifiable content is deleted per our Privacy Policy, while licensed content (reviews, community contributions) is anonymized.

The Gallery Contributor Program is a separate opt-in program governed by the Contributor Agreement. Key terms include:

• Revenue share based on a percentage of net revenue after fulfillment and payment processing fees.
• Right to withdraw images with a 30-day grace period for outstanding orders.
• No exclusivity — you may sell your work elsewhere.
• Platform reserves the right to curate Gallery content, including cherry-picking standout images from any seller tier.

You may not upload or share content that:

• Is illegal, harmful, threatening, or harassing.
• Infringes on intellectual property rights.
• Contains malware or deceptive links.
• Promotes illegal drug cultivation or controlled substances.
• Misrepresents seed varieties, origins, or growing characteristics.
• Contains inappropriate content for the rated audience level.
• In the case of uploaded video, captures a third party without their consent or is otherwise unlawful to record or share in your jurisdiction.

When you identify a plant in SprigLoom, the species name, a coarse location cell (a hex tile approximately 5 km across, derived from the location you supplied with the photo), the time of the sighting, and the identification's confidence score are contributed to an anonymized community-sightings dataset by default. This dataset powers the species range and community-pulse views inside the app and may be exposed via aggregated research endpoints in the future.

What we share by default:

• The plant species (or candidate species).
• A cell-precisionlocation only — a hex tile roughly 5 km across, never your exact coordinates, address, or device location.
• The time of the sighting and the identification confidence.

What we do not share without your separate consent:

• Your photos, which remain private to your account and are only sent to our identification provider (Pl@ntNet) for the purpose of generating candidates.
• Your username, profile, or display name — community-sightings surfaces never attribute sightings to individual users.
• The exact coordinates of the sighting. Exact-coordinate sharing is per-sighting, opt-in, and limited to users aged 18 or over.

We apply a “sparse-cell” filter: cells with fewer than three distinct contributing users are dropped from any public surface, so a single user's sightings cannot be re-identified from the map. Per-sighting opt-out of cell-precision sharing is available in app settings. Acceptance of cell-precision community sharing is a condition of account creation.

All payments are processed through Stripe. By making a purchase, you agree to Stripe's terms of service.

• Buyers: You are responsible for providing accurate shipping information and verifying that seeds are legal to import in your jurisdiction.
• Sellers: You are responsible for accurate listings, timely shipping, and compliance with tax obligations.
• Disputes: SprigLoom facilitates resolution between buyer and seller. For platform-fulfilled orders, the platform handles refunds directly.

Sellers are assigned a health score (0–1000) based on order defect rate, shipping timeliness, cancellation rate, customer ratings, dispute resolution, and response time.

Your seller tier (Trusted, Established, New, At Risk) determines your platform privileges, including Gallery eligibility, product types you can sell, and placement priority. Scores below tier thresholds result in automatic privilege revocation with notification.

SprigLoom is not responsible for growing outcomes. Germination rates, plant health, and harvest results depend on many factors beyond our control.

Certain plant species may require controlled substance permits or be restricted in your area. Sellers must comply with FSA labeling requirements and phytosanitary regulations.

We may suspend or terminate your account for violations of these Terms, including but not limited to marketplace misconduct, prohibited content, or fraudulent activity.

Account deletion follows a soft-delete process with a 30-day grace period during which you may cancel the deletion by logging in. After 30 days, personal data is permanently deleted and licensed content is anonymized.
